Your Key To The Dream of Rio de Janeiro

Imagine a “Marvelous City” cover by the Atlantic Forest and a beautiful coast with green water, white and tropical beaches with soft sand. Now imagine a hotel that you can say, “It is my place” located between the two biggest Urban Forest in the world among mountains, springs of water, beautiful waterfall and only a few kilometers of distance from wild beaches. However, do not forget to add in this location luxury, comfort and facilities.

Now that you have this dream in mind let me introduce it to you. This Marvelous City called Rio de Janeiro, this zone called Barra da Tijuca at West Zone, the urban forests are Pedra Branca Park and Tijuca National Park and one of the wild beach called Perigoso beach.

Welcome aboard to my city, my place.

Barra da Tijuca is the youngest neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro and introduced a new lifestyle into the country. With luxury condominiums and mega malls, the residents certainly lead a fantastic lifestyle. The condominiums are known as eco-condos as they are environmental friendly. Barra da Tijuca has a vibrant nightlife and is proud of several bars and some of the best nightclubs in town.

Here are a few of my favorite places in Rio de Janeiro.

  • Barra da Tijuca Beach The biggest carioca beach, with 14.4 km of extension, delights the ones who goes from Lúcio Costa Avenue to Recreio dos Bandeirantes. Surfing, kite surfing and body surfing are popular sports here.

In the beginning of the beach there is Barraca do Pepê, the most famous juice kiosk and sandwiches of the city and meeting place to the youth who live in the neighborhood.

  • Reserva Marapendi and Reserva Beach – Nearby, there is the Biological Reserve Marapendi and Marapendi Lagoon, from Ayrton Senna Avenue, the beach does not allow boardwalk and constructions for being an environmental protection area.

  • Prainha Beach Located in a nature reserve, are sure to impress anyone with its natural untouched beauty. Access to these beaches is quite difficult but they are definitely worth the trouble. Prainha beach has been honored with the internationally recognized Blue Flag award, given yearly to beaches and marinas that have passed stringent tests for sustainability, quality and management.

  • Sítio Roberto Burle Marx – Located in Guaratiba, only 11 miles away, the ranch where landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx lived has more than 3,500 types of local and foreign plants, some in danger of extinction. Burle Marx discovered many of them during travels. Ironwood, palm, aloe and more than 200 types of bromeliad introduced to landscape design Burle Marx. He was known as a modern nature artist and a public urban space designer whose designs of parks and gardens made him world famous. Join a visit with biologist, open to the public.
