Your Key To Magical Bali

Bali is Magical!!! It offers a perfect respite from city living with the spectacular mountain views, white sandy beaches, arts and cultures to the Balinese who are known to be among the friendliest and most hospitable people you will ever meet.

Here are a few of my uncommon favourite sights in Bali largely unknown to tourists:

  • Tenganan Village is one of the most conservative Bali Aga villages on the island. Try to visit Tenganan on June, as there will be a ‘Perang Pandan’, an old tradition which sees friendly war between all male villagers, armed with a small rattan and a tied-thorny pandan leaves in hands.
  • Trunyan Village is another secluded ancient Bali Aga village located in a remote bay on the shores of Lake Batur. The village is renowned for its unique and unusual mortuaries rites where bodies are neither cremated nor buried but left to rot out in the open.
  • Tirta Gangga ; Water palace with large fish ponds decorated by statues and water fountains.
  • Traditional village of Penglipuran is a traditional Balinese compounds that will take you back in time to experience how the locals lived.
  • Hidden underwater temple in Pemuteran.  An incredible and unique dive site in Pemuteran. The “temple” was built as part of a recent environmental conservation program. It’s worth to visit!
  • A day experience as a traditional Balinese farmer.  Discover the tranquil side of Bali and experience its natural treasures at a secluded organic farm. Surround yourself with the local community and reconnect with nature as we take you to explore the scenic countryside.
  • Mepantigan Balinese Mud is one of the Balinese cultural games you can play in the rice fields, and get very dirty and muddy with local games. Have I tempted your inner child enough?

I would like to share my top 5 restaurants recommendation within Seminyak area as follow:

  • Sarong – A must try is the Bebek Madura, inspired by the local delicacy found in Madura, a gorgeously crisp twice-cooked local duck is served alongside sambal mangga – spicy mango salad that cuts through and sharpens the rich flavours of the tender duck meat
  • Sardine – Prepare to be wowed by this stunning and elegant addition to Bali’s fine-dining scene.  A seafood restaurant emphasizing on fresh fare from the Indian Ocean and Bali Sea as well as organic vegetables from their own gardens.
  • Merah Putih – The food and flavours at Merah Putih set it apart from any other. Menus and dishes created from traditional regional recipes using the very best locally grown and seasonally sourced products.
  • Mamasan – The sassy stepsister to Sarong, offering not only a welcoming air-conditioned venue but also sumptuous Asian foods with focus on Szechuan style wok dishes  infused with all Indochina countries method of cooking.  This dish needs no introduction as it is one of Thailand’s national signature dish although truth be told, this is mostly through its popularity with Westerners. What makes a good plate of Pad Thai is all about personal taste, but it does need to be well balanced, with both sweet and sour flavours.
  • Metis – Flickering candles and seductive hanging vines set the scene at MÉTIS, loved for its French-Mediterranean cuisine and timelessly elegant atmosphere. The Legendary Pan-Seared Hot Foie Gras have me returning to MÉTIS time after time.

Being a concierge, I have the special relationship with them and I can pull the little magic even all tables are booked out. I will also ensure that you will be taken care of and your dining experience would be memorable one!

I am very much looking forward to welcoming you as my VIP guest at The Legian Bali hotel so that I can carefully curate collection of my local experiences and attractions to help you customize the perfect vacation.
