Les Clefs D’Or Denmark was established on 23rd of January 1937 at Grand Cafe at Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. The Danish section translate into “De Gyldne Nøgler”.
Despite being, a small country with current 15 members. Denmark has hosted three international Congresses so far all held in our capital Copenhagen.

The second congress was held in 1977 from 25th of April to 1st of May and the price was 250 USD at that time. International President was Mr Jean Gillet and the Danish President was Mr.Verner Lykke Larsen. The latest congress was held in 2008 from 11th to the 16th of January. Denmark is surrounded with water. You will never be more than 52 kilometres from the sea. The coastline is 8.750; kilometres long and plays a huge role in the Danish infrastructure and lifestyle.
Copenhagen is the capital with approximately 1 million inhabitants. The government is based here with two members from Greenland and two members from Fareo Island, which still belong under the Danish Monarchy. Our Royal family is still highly respected and influence the Danish culture strongly. The Danish population are among the happiest people in the world.
Denmark is very flat country and I always recommend our guests to explore Copenhagen with bicycle. Contact any LCD member and we be happy to assist with organizing boat tours or bike tours etc. Especially in the summer time, you will discover the bright lively evenings. Please come to Denmark and explore what “hygge” is.
